Porchfest 2024 in the GE Realty Plot!
Saturday, 9/21 from 12-5 pm.
The Porchfest concept started in Ithaca as a way for community members to walk around from house to house and enjoy free music. Steve Weisse, a local musician and the secretary-treasurer of Local 85-133 of the American Federation of Musicians of the United States and Canada, the local musicians union in Schenectady says the idea for this event came from a previous student of his but he decided to change it a little bit by paying the musicians.
Free community Music Event on porches in Schenectady’s Historic G.E. Realty Plot. There will be jazz, classical, and singer-songwriters. Stroll, stand, or bring a lawn chair. Parking throughout the GE Realty Plot neighborhood. Food trucks will be located throughout the neighborhood including the Broken Inn hot dog truck, 518 Woodfired pizza, and more!
