Join Schenectady City Historian, Chris Leonard, on a walking tour of the historic GE Realty Plot neighborhood. Leonard will cover the dynamic events and unique cast of characters who have called “The Plot” their home. The tour includes stories and anecdotes about GE inventors and executives, Schenectady business and political leaders, entertainers, and incomparable individuals, as well as the formation of The Plot and ongoing efforts to protect these stately homes. Some of the many luminaries covered include Charles P. Steinmetz, Irving Langmuir, Izetta Jewel Miller and Ernst Alexanderson.

Price: $20/person, which includes entry into one of the homes, and a 15-minute break with snacks on its large front porch.

Location: The tour meets at Steinmetz Memorial Park on Wendell Avenue, next to the Unitarian Church (1221 Wendell Ave.). (Not Steinmetz Park on Rosa Road)

Time: Tours start at 10 AM sharp and last approximately 2 hours

Parking: There is ample parking on Wendell Ave and surrounding streets. Please do not park in the Unitarian Church parking lot.

Details: Tour groups are limited to 25 people on a first come first served basis, so purchase your tickets online via Paypal or call 518 225-2924 to reserve your spot. There are no physical tickets for the tour. You will be contacted shortly after you purchase tickets to verify your purchase.

Proceeds for the tour go to the Schenectady County Historical Society, the GE Realty Plot Association, and the Office of the City Historian of Schenectady.
